Contrary to popular belief, the Lotus Temple is not a Hindu Temple. It is a Bahá’i House of Worship. The Baha’i Faith is a religion stemming from the Shaykhi School of Shia Islam. Originating in Iran in 1863, the religion soon spread to India. In 1953, the Indian Baha’i community, that comprised of less than 1000 followers, bought 26 acres of land for the construction of the House of Worship. Over 10 years later, on the order of the Hand of Baha’ism, the Baha’i architect, Fariborz Sahba was approached to design the structure. A majority of the contribution towards the expenses of construction was by a Baha’i follower Ardeshir Rustampur. The Lotus Temple was completed in 1986. Red Fort is a historic fort in the city of Delhi in India. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal dynasty for nearly 200 years, until 1856. It is located in the center of Delhi and houses a number of museums.

The Golden Temple in Amritsar is one of the best temples in India and a popular Sikh pilgrimage site. The temple, also known as Sri Harmandir Sahib. The uppper floors of the gurdwara (Sikh religious centre) which is constructed using 400kg of gold gives the structure the name 'Golden Temple'. Golden Temple was initially built around 1574 A.D. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the eternal Guru of the Sikhs is located inside the temple. Visit the temple and go to the renowned areas. Also go to the shopping and dining hubs and the lake surrounding the temple. The Golden Temple in Amritsar is also famous for the celebrations. The main festival that is celebrated in the temple is Vaisakhi. It is held in the second week of April and is celebrated to commemorate the founding of the Khalsa cult. To celebrate the festival, the whole temple is illuminated with lights which are a great spectacle.
